Sailing Maine

Did you know Maine has over 4600 islands to explore? Sailing around those islands is a challenge. Not only do you have lobster pots to dodge, you also have islands to dodge! With so many islands, we found ourselves motoring a bunch – foregoing sailing which would have been a constant tacking exercise without getting anywhere fast. Plus, the fog made it triple difficult, but we forged on up to Penobscot Bay, then had to turn around and head home for a wedding and a home renovation check.

We explored the following islands. Watch the Videos to get the whole story.

  • Richmond Island – Cape Elizabeth
  • Jewell Island – Casco Bay
  • Seguin Island
  • Penobscot Bay
  • Rockland
  • Vinalhaven & Pulpit
  • Hurricane
  • The Barreds
  • Matinicus
  • Monhegan
  • Falmouth-Portland
  • Cape Porpoise
  • Kennebunkport
