Sailing – Seabrook to Charleston

On this voyage, we traveled from Seabrook Island, SC to Charleston, SC in one day, anchored overnight, then returned to Seabrook Island the following day. Our fellow voyagers on this trip were Pauline and Bill Chinnis.

The trip up to Charleston took about 4 hours.  We flew our parasail, the Jolly Roger,  caught fish, and arrived in time to take the dinghy over to catch dinner at California Dreaming Restaurant.

After a good nights rest,  we departed early to avoid an upcoming storm.  We were the only people leaving the harbor, with small boat warnings over the VHF!  We motor sailed away out the inlet,  and spied the dark clouds and choppy seas in the distance.  So, we quickly turned south and headed home to Bohicket Marina.  We caught a spanish mackerel.   Our catamaran handled the seas admirably,  but still a bit choppier than we would have liked.  The return trip took 8 hours.  That’s the way it goes sometimes.

Upon returning to Seabrook,  we had dinner out and finished of course with a sunset.
